Past gatherings

A recap and impressions of the 2026 Bullitreffen will follow.

With perfect summer weather and temperatures of up to 25 degrees Celsius, the campsite in Betzenstein once again became a meeting place for Bulli enthusiasts from near and far. Participants had travelled from Berlin, Göttingen, Munich and, of course, from Franconia to spend a weekend together full of conversations, experiences and shared passion.

Not long after everyone arrived, the first workshop-style conversations began. People talked shop, exchanged experiences, and of course the typical stories from life on the road could not be missing – from unexpected repairs along the way to flat tyres and all the little adventures that every Bulli driver experiences at some point.

During the day, visitors strolled around the site, admired the wide variety of vehicles and enjoyed interesting technical conversations. Others spent time playing a round of Mölkky or simply enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere among the buses. Some participants made a short trip to the nearby outdoor swimming pool, just a few minutes' walk away, or visited the neighbouring climbing forest. The surrounding woods and hiking trails also invited people to take short walks.

What made the weekend especially enjoyable was the colourful mix of participants. Many were already experienced visitors of such gatherings, while others were attending a Bulli meeting for the very first time. Organisers of other bus and vanlife gatherings were also present, creating many new contacts and friendships.

Of course, food and drink were not neglected either. People grilled together, ate, laughed and sat together late into the night. The highlight of the evening was the campfire, where a fellow bus enthusiast played several wonderful songs unplugged. Many sang along, listened to the music and enjoyed the special atmosphere. Conversations continued deep into the early morning hours, with people reflecting on travel, vehicles and life itself.

In the end, everyone agreed: it was much more than just a meeting of vehicles. It was a weekend among friends, shaped by community, passion and the joy of being on the road. Many participants headed home with new acquaintances, fond memories and anticipation for the next reunion.
